Come spend an inspiring weekend learning the art of making beautiful mosaics. This workshop includes hands-on studio time during which students will be guided in the design and execution of an original work of mosaic art to take home.

Class will begin with a brief history of mosaic art and examples of ancient and contemporary mosaics. Students will experience why one of the oldest art forms in the world continues to appeal to artists and admirers today.

This class is great for beginners who will receive instruction on concepts of design and creativity, appropriate mosaic materials, cutting and setting techniques, surfaces, adhesives, tools, grouting and sealing. This class is also appropriate for students who have already experimented with interior or craft mosaics and would like to expand their knowledge to include exterior, garden and permanent installations. The technical information presented in class will supply the practical knowledge and skills required to make mosaic projects of your own choosing in the future.

Students will be provided with a base to mosaic and have lots of great materials to choose from for their project.
